Well it's been a crazy week here in the Williams house. The biggest news that happened is our poor little Ashlee slipped in some mud at school, fell back onto her outstretched hand, (we call that a FOOSH in the ER), and broke her wrist. I picked her up from the school and took her to our little town hospital because it was closest. Then...well...the momma bear in me came out and I kind of took over their ER and ended up bossing around their doctor and nurses. (Looking back, I was probably a little more pushy than I should have been...but you better believe...I got the job done and done well!) Here's a look at her X-rays before and after:

And here's our little Ashlee now:

(It's good to see she still has her normal "drama queen" attitude to get her through this ordeal!)
So we all had to write Carson about the excitement and this is what he wrote back to us this morning....
Hey mom how is it going?
Pole sona kuhusu (very sorry about) ashlee breaking her wrist lakini (but) i had to laugh big moma bear coming through.
Here in TZ every body is just chill. you try and stop someone they turn around and start asking you questions about the church, you get your hopes up until they say. Oh that church isn't that the church that is freemacen and devil worshipers and the dance around naked in what they call sacrament i can't go to that church. kind of sad but oh well. Right.
Ya those congo guys they lived in Congo but because of the war they were forced to flee with their families. And that is how they got to the nyragus camp.
They heard about the gospel in their native land and decided to join with it.
very cool experience. and What elder Bednar said is true. (I was watching the church's world report in between conferences on Sunday and they had a story about the church in Africa. Elder Bednar was saying that in some areas of Africa, the church is growing so rapidly that it goes from a few members to branches to stakes without any help from missionaries. I thought that was amazing!)
Saturday we where giving the oppurtunity to see an investigator and his family at the town. In Tonga 5 hrs out of Dar it was a cool experience. and there is 50 of them and they were asking us questions made us food and then we left. We took alot of pic. but the internet is making me happy so maybe next week. (He had tried to send pictures earlier this morning but nothing would come through!)
Also pres talked to us at zone conference and said that change is in the horizion. Pres went and talked to the immigration people and he answered some of the questions and he impressed them so now there should be a whole lot of worker permits being issued. Which is very exciting.
Today we went to Arusha and they said they had a few packages for me. So ya thank you so much.
Love you too and hope you are all doing good.
Hi Carson. It's going ok this morning. Just chillin' waiting for you! So what does pole sona kuhusu and lakini mean?
That's kind of funny in a way about the whole dancing around naked in sacrament. I hope we don't implement that policy very soon. That doesn't sound at all attractive....at all!!!
So the guys from the Congo...how far away is their camp? Did they go back there? What happens to them and their families now?
Very sorry but.
ON the other side of TZ yes we will have to see because they don't have the MP (Melchez Preisthood) so they need to wait kidogo (slightly) until missionaries or pres helps set up a branch.
Very sorry but because of time i got to go. Pole sona. (very sorry)
Lakini napenda sona. sikh jema (But I love you very much. Good Day.)
So he's off and running again this week. Ken's secretary usually sends me a copy of Ken's letter from Carson but she must have forgotten today. But Ken was telling me that Carson had to fly out to a couple areas this week on airplanes for zone training and other teaching. Sounds interesting.
Since I didn't get a lot of chat time with Carson today, I was trying to do some research on some of the areas he's been mentioning. And this is what I found...
I think this is the refugee camp he was talking about:
Nyarugusu Camp is one of the best-known and largest refugee camps since the
end of the 20th century. It is located in the western province of Kigoma in Tanzania, Africa.[1]
It was created in
1996/1997 by the UNHCR
and the Tanzanian government, after a multitude of Congolese refugees from the eastern
region of Democratic
Republic of Congo, Sud-Kivu
(Kivu), moved to the
western coast of Tanzania, trying to get away from a civil war.
(The yellow star is the city of Dar es Salaam where Carson is, and the orange circle in the middle of the map is where the refugee camp is. To the far west of the picture is the Democratic Republic of Congo.)
This map is supposed to show where the city Tonga is. That's the one he said was 5 hours away from Dar.
And then I must have really been bored with a lot of time on my hands because I did a google satellite search on his branch meeting house in Kinondoni. It's the little blue marker in the middle of the picture. I found it on the church website! Cool!

So I finally got the letter that Carson sent to Ken. Together with my letter, things make a little more sense...I think. Sounds like he is only going to get busier and busier!!! Go Carson and Preach That Gospel!!!! Love that kid!!!
Hey pole sona (Very Sorry)
For that. hey that is good that the weather is improving. Over here it is still
hotter than ever and everybody is telling me you'll get used to it. and i just
point at the sweat streaming down my face and say Do i look like i'm getting
used to it. I'm literally turning red.
But ya this last week has
been intense, Speaking on Memories. On Saturday we had the oppurtunity to go to
Tonga 5 hrs north of dar. and we met with this group who recieved the gospel
from one of the investigators who lives there and works in Dar. Lubuku is his
name and we had met with him three times then he went to Tonga and was teaching
everybody in that area. so we traveled up there and we stayed there for
something like 3 hrs and then went back home. It was a really cool experience
will never forget that. But today i'm not in Dar but in Arusha. Sunday night me
and my comp where recovering from our trip when the Assistants phoned and said
that in the morning we would be leaving at 6:30 to go to Zone Training.
So this morning we got on
a plan. Much like the one we took from Great falls to salt lake. Very small.
but it was only about a 2 hrs flight. but ya right now i'm absolutely worn out.
But i hope you guys are doing good.
and Good luck in the
racing season.
Love you lots
Carson
