July 6, 2015

So this week I took Grandma, Ashlee and her friend, Taylor G, down to Provo for a girls basketball camp.

While Ashlee and Taylor G were working on their "skills", Gma and I visited Beryl and Spencer and ate their ice cream.  Then the next morning we did a session at the Logan Temple.

We climbed Mt. Timpanogos and toured the caves.  Going up was pretty steep...but the path was paved and it only took about 30 minutes.  Then coming back down...it rained on us!

But best of all, got to go hang out with my brother and his family.  Big thanks to Michael and Lisa for putting up with us!  We had a great time!  Thanks again!

And while we were gone...Kaylee and Taylor had a fun few days at Gold Spring Park for their Young Womens camp.

But thank goodness for internet and Gma's computer!  We were able to chat with Carson for a little bit!  Love that kid!  Only 8 more weeks till he's home!!!

Ya hey mom
oh my goodness i just about tipped over when i saw the itinerary it almost feels serial. Like i want to go home but also mission is great and i final got a handle on it and now i m going home it is like what the fetch.
but ya i don't know i probably would say that eating out would be nice but it really doesn't matter to me by that time i ll be so dizzy and just want to sleep but what ever you think is nice that is what we will do.
WELL ya busia it is super nice alittle bit hot but still nice it is basically like welling but maybe alittle bigger (I Don't know i havent seen it all yet.) But overall it is super nice but all is going well i m just trying to get use to the people here and have some good times with them. but ya it is still really nice.
Well as for me i really honestly don't know i really havent planned what i want or what i ll be doing when i go back the main focus was to go and serve a mission now it is kind of like ????????
But ya A+W will be great and dad not cutting the truck would be nice too but what ever though.
So um ya my companions it is Elder Harvey and Elder Kogo. Elder Harvey is 21 he lived in Utah and his family is moving to california and he is really funny and he will be leaving after me with moline.
Elder Kogo is a kenya from eldoret and he is extremely funny he has this smile that is just ridiculous but it is still crazy.
Ya i think i ll be getting a photo soon so i ll send it to ya.
Love you lots
Hope you have a great time down that side.

If I missed you again...I'm gonna be ticked.  I've been checking every hour since two and it's 6 now.  Looks like you wrote at 4:45.  Not sure why my iPod never showed your letter.  Are you gone yet?

no i'm still here i just hope you won't be ticked at me but at the silly technology.

No I'm ticked at me!  I've been waiting and watching and was hoping I wouldn't miss you!

So sounds like Busia is pretty good.  Is it a ward or a branch?  How many members?

Your companions sound great.  I would love to see a picture.

He hasn't cut the end off the truck yet...so we'll see what happens.

Have you had a chance to talk to the mission pres about what you'll do after your mission?

Oh ok ya it is a branch around 50 some members
ya i ll see if i can get one soon.
please PLEASE PLEASE DON'T DO SUCH A CRUEL THING I M JUST ABOUT HOME LET IT SURVIVE PLEASE.
no not yet i ll remember to do that soon like now isn

Now isn?  Do you have an interview with him today?  Or soon? when do you see him next?

Any packages recently?   Haven't sent one for a long time.  Feels like I've neglected you.  Hoping that you've gotten those last ones by now.

Any big plans for you this week?  How's the missionary work?  Teaching anyone?

When i ll be going home so maybe i ll ask him then.
nope nothing lately oh no oh no. You know what it says in the bible if you are prepared ye shall not fear. Just prepare for me and my coming and all will be well.
Nothing yet but we will see. It is going great. mom yes mom we are trying to find families to be baptized soon so it is going great.

Ok!  I'm starting to prepare for you?  What kind of things do you want me to prepare for you?  I'll start baking some cherry pies and some brownies and pizza buns.

Wait...I shouldn't be talking about this stuff.  Won't it make you trunky? Sorry

So how do you find these families?  Do you tract, like knocking on doors?  Or just walk around?  Or is it member referrals? Anything lining up for you?

Just starting to get the girls up so we can have breakfast and then we are headed to Walmart for snacks and then to the BYU stadium to drop off the girls.  How much longer do you have to use the computer?

All of that we do contacting and so on just trying to find teach and prepare for baptism.  probably just a few min. we have to go get some groceries drop some stuff off and then see some one in town so we might be going soonish.

Well that sounds all right.  Hope you have a great week.  I sure love you and hope you have some luck contacting and teaching and doing all your missionary work!  Hope it goes well.

What's on your grocery list today?

We will be going soonish too.  But I'm so thankful I got to chat with you today.  It makes my whole week!  Luv ya!

Sounds like a great menu!  I'm excited to see what our hotel breakfast is this morning!  Maybe I'll have a little orange juice myself!

Hope you have a good week

Then SURPRISE!!!
He sent some pictures!  They're very......interesting!

Just got your pictures.  WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING IN ALL THAT MUD?  YUCK!

By the way we are building a house out of mud.  Kind of like when you where a kid building little castles.  Just bigger and more sturdy and after someone is going to live in it super fun.  I feel like a kid again.

And here is his letter to Ken.....

Hey dad
Ya it is always good to hear news from home.
As for me i m doing good. i just saw that to on my itinerary and i m pretty pumped. But as far as transfers go and the state of the mission i ll probably stay in busia while one of these guys go. but we will just have to see transfer week is in two weeks. but ya it is really awesome here and i ll for sure miss it when i do get to leave this branch here in busia is really something else. We actually had a baptism this sunday so ya the work is progressing alot. but ya for sure i agree with you if i reminisce on mission a always remember the good times and laugh at some of the things i did or what i watched me companions do. but ya it is great and i just realized how sad i ll be when i ll be leaving. . but ya all is well i miss you and hope to see ya soon
Love you lots
