January 13/ 2014

I was so excited to see Carson's emails today!  He sent us lots of pictures and they are so much fun to look at.  I was working nights last night so I wasn't able to chat much with Carson, but it still was awesome to hear from him.

Here are the pictures he sent:

This is Carson's letter to Ken:

Hey thanks eh. ya just like you said picture pictures pictures. I have been trying but i really don't like taking my camera around because compared to everybody else it is very high tech. So i have been just talking to every body and hopeful they will just send me the pictures through email. but that is good your walking on the tread mill. but hey if you woke up early did your horses early you could walk to work and back. Eh? it would only talk a few min-hour depending on how fast your going. But just think of it this way... By walking your saving Gas which in turns means your saving money. That sounds good doesn't. However everybody would be missing the chevy rolling around. Hey this last sunday we had 5 baptisms. me, my comp and another member baptized. Elder O and I baptized 2 each and the other baptized one. but it still was good. BUT i was freaking out along with this member because it was both our first time. So we where making sure we could say the prayer right and also their names. Kibubuta John peters and Nahori nuhu sigaza. Image the struggle i had with those names. But Amazingly i said them right and only for both just once i felt like a professional it was great. I tried to take pictures but i was to busy trying to get their names. but the Elder couples got a few so hope the will be able to send them to me.

So ya that is all of us and it was a very good experience. thanks for writing to me really enjoyed it this week thanks again
Love you guys
Carson

And then here is his letter to me!   I told him I was looking forward to getting lots and lots of details about all the baptisms he had lined up yesterday.  And because I was going to be working and wouldn't be able to chat much, I told him I needed him to write me  paragraphs and paragraphs and pages and pages.  He didn't do too bad actually.  I think he's getting better at this writing thing!!!

Hey it is going good. Hope also for you. ya hehehe... I don't know about Pages and pages or even paragraphs and paragraphs you know i'm not very good with writing all of my thoughts in a correct orderly way that people can understand. So i'll try my best and hopefully you'll be ok with that.

So ya the baptism it went down yesterday. Me and Elder o baptized 2 people each and another member baptized the other. It was very good but... Me and the member where freaking out because it was our first time to do it and we where trying to figure out the correct way to say everybodies names and the prayer right. For me there names where Kibubuta John peter and Nahori nuhu sigaza. So ya imagine the fun i had with that. But because of me awesomeness i said both names correct and with both i did it right so i only had to do it once. Yup that is why we are number 1
The only problem we encountered was that we didn't have enough shirts for everybody. so some had to improvise and i had to give another my extra shirt. so after it all that is why i'm walking around and taking pic with everybody in a long t-shirt and also it was wet to so ya didn't plan that out very well.

Well it still sounds like everything else went pretty good. I got some of the other pics you sent. So fun. What's going on in them? Where were you? Tell me more about the baptisms. Did you have to speak? Were the five people a family or related or what.

no they had no relation at all. just 5 investigators that we baptized on the same day.
Ya but the rest of this week has been pretty chill. Almost done my 3 transfer and having alot of fun with my companions.
Even at the baptism a bunch of the canidates for baptisms they where saying they had never felt like that before. even me i was freaking out and then it was my turn and the fear left me and i went and did it and felt very very good. Reminded me so much of my own baptism. So ya it was a very good experience and hopeful i can get a few more.
Thanks for your letter really enjoyed. Also i'm feeling very popular right now. I got a few more letters for christmas. it was very good i really enjoyed. oh well hope you guys are doing good and hope your week will be good to. Good luck at work.

What is a three transfer? Your making me cry when you talk about how good it felt to baptize someone. Sooooo proud of you. You're doing some amazing things out there. Wow. Good for you
Forgot to ask.  How's the malaria. Are you feeling ok? We put up the picture of Carrens baptism in the church bulletin board for you. Hope that's ok

Transfer is 6 weeks that is how long you could have in an area. It also is when new or old missionaries come in or leave. Malaria sucks but it has left the system and yes i'm taking my meds religiously.  Hey that is sweet hopeful the Knechts will send me some better pictures from this baptism to send to you. Because one of them is a refugee from congo and his family is in this camp and they want to start mission work there but not enough missionaries. Also one of our investigators who asked us for some books phoned us the other day, and told us that he was having success. ???? we where like What???? and he said church in Tonga. he had 20 people at his home and they read the book of mormon and read the other books we had given them. and apparently they had church. IT was awesome and crazy all at the same time.

There was quite a long delay right about here.  The computer at work would not let me look at my emails but luckily enough, I was able to use my ipod on the wifi.

Well you must be gone. Sad for me. But I guess my break time is just about done and the iPod is low on battery. But it was so nice to hear from you. If you do write back any answers to my questions...I also wanted to know what you tied for first in your mission. Member present lessons?  Also when's your next zone conference.  Any packages lately?  Any requests?
Well, just want to tell you again how much I love you. Now I have to run and show everybody at work all the pictures you sent me.  Love you lots. Good luck this week. Hope you keep riding that high!
All my love.   Mom

No i was just trying to load a photo but it didn't work so ya. I"M BACK... :) Overall mission work in the mission area. Next ZC is March first week sometime. :)))))))))) Happy b-day from pres. No packages but our ZL is going to Nairobi so hopeful they are there if not ZC is a transfer away. No not really any requests but just candy and other stuff. oh ya maybe another pair of pants. I burnt the leggings on the one pant and i left 1-2 in Nairobi because it weighed to much. oh and if you want in that book of missionary tips it said maybe send some garments. I don't need any but if you want to send some CLEAN garments that would be more than wonderful. But whatever you feel i need send it and i'll use it or EAT it one of the two. Thank you
Love you lots

Can you get someone to bring down your extra pants from Nairobi?

um i don't know if anybody would want to do that. But it is ok. Also i need another vial for concentrated oil. Because the one you guys gave me broke. so if you could send that to me that would be great.

Might be easier to buy a new pair of pants there. Look into that maybe. Then put a list together of what else you need/want and I'll try and send it this week. Love ya.

ya sure thing.  I think it is med and long. but if you do send just make sure it isn't to many don't want to over load my suitcase so i have to pay. Sawa Asante sona Moma
Talk to you on mothers day in May.
Carson
Love you guys.

K. See what I can do. And as for moms day...I'm calling you this time. Then you don't have to pay and I can talk as long as I want!!!  Cause I'm the mom!!  Love you. Have a great week.

Hahaha i would like to see you tell that to the President. Because really they give us the money i didn't buy any until i needed to finish the conversation. So you can talk to Pres. Hicken about it and we will see what happens.

And that was it!!!   (oh we'll see what happens all right!!!)
