HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This is how Kaylee celebrated NewYear's!!!  

And then she came home and started watching Korean soap operas.  (Wha????)

   

     I can't believe it's already 2014.  Carson has been out in the mission field for exactly 4 months and 1 day.  Only 20 more months to go!  Here are his letters to us today!

TO MOM:

Hey that sounds like you guys are doing good. but i don't know about the whole smack down you gave on that girl. (Ooops...I kind of told him about a small incident at work with me and one VERY intoxicated young lady.  Just ignore this part!!)  That's where we would say don't mess around with the momma bear. bad things will happen to ya.

Please i don't know about kaylee. she is almost 16 that is when crazy things start to happen, hormones start going off the charts. and also i really don't want to get involved. I don't know anything about girl things this is more your department. and as for Korean soup opera. ???????????? I don't know.??????

Ya i know i saw that on the transfer sheet they give us he got in but he is staying in Kenya. i haven't heard anything about Kash but 7 elders have got the visas and are on the way. so hope a few come our way we need them. Except that would mean i would have to train. YIKES!!! maybe a English speaking mission not Kiswahili.

Ya i went to the cash thing and i tried to do as you guys said pull out 300-400 canadian but it wouldn't let me. so i tried lower and it worked so i just went up until stopped shutting out cash. Sorry but now i know i can only take out 150000-200000.

Also i got one of your packages from Kenya. all of the halloween candy. Most of the chocolate was melted so i through it in the fridge. but i finally got it thank you.

oh ya also i got a bunch of christmas cards from people in the ward. Christmas wishes in the 2nd week of January oh well. but verla wilde, gordon + Ruth wilde, Kirk + lela Bullock, and grandma so ya thanks for them eh.

Hey thanks again mom love to hear from you guys but i don't know about kaylee though. I told my comp and he is on the ground crying now.

Hi Carson.  So good to hear from you today.  That's awesome that you got another package from us!  Yah!  There should be another Christmas one coming and then a few Pringles cans.  We are wanting to send something birthday-ish for you.  Any requests?  Thanks for the advice about Kaylee.  She's pretty funny right now.  SOOOOO excited to get her drivers license.  She just finished the class work and now is in the process of scheduling driving times.  Heaven help us all!!!

Any good missionary stories for us?  We love hearing about your work and what you've been doing!

Missionary stories. Well hmmm. On sunday we will be having 5 baptisms and i went on exchanges with Rawson and we had some fun, but president emailed us and said that he is proud of us and says that we are tied for first in the whole KNM. it was awesome so happy it was great. we are going to celebrate tonight with Halloween candy. Hamburger helper and Mountain dews and Novidas. (basically a sweet sprite) i have some photos to send to you so hold tight.

FIVE BAPTISMS!!!  Holy moly!!!  That's awesome!!!  Who's Rawson?  Can you make Hamburger Helper over there?  Do you actually have hamburger or is it more of that dehydrated stuff?  Can't wait for the photos...but I will!!!  But so excited for you.  I can't believe 5 baptisms.  

Oh yeah...here's another picture of what is going on at home.

You might be burning up hot...but we are freezing!!!  Another deep freeze kind of week in store with minus 20 temps.  And the worst part is that it just teases us with a little snow...like 3 or 4 inches...and then the wind comes up and blows it all away.  So can't even enjoy any skidooing.  It's kind of crappy!!!

(We sent a Christmas present with Carson to Africa.  There was two small packages of Froot Loops because that is one of our Christmas traditions to eat Froot Loops on Christmas morning.  Too bad I didn't think to send him TWO Christmas packages in his suitcase so that he'll definitely have Froot Loops next year!  Oh well!)

Ha Ha Ha!!!  That looks like a pretty good bowl of Froot Loops!  Did you enjoy them?  Did your companion try some?

No he wasn't feeling well. So i ate them all but i don't have anymore. :(

This is Carson's letter to Ken.....    (Ken wrote a SECOND letter to Carson this week about some money things.  He must have pulled out his serious writing voice!) 

Hey it is good to see that you guys are doing good. So this last week i tried to take out 300 Canadian just like you said. BUT it would only allow me to take out 200,000 tsh which is about 133 $ Canadian so i tried but that is all that it would spit out at me. So if you want i can just go in their twice and pull out the same amount or just stick with it until i need more. Funny think though as i read your letter i could hear your voice over my shoulder. It spooked me for a min. there until i realized you weren't here. But i get your meaning.

Also this week we have 5 baptisms scheduled/ oh and also my companionship is tied right now for first in the whole mission. Pres hicken was praising. He actually phoned us today to talk to us about it. Just told us he was very proud of us and to keep up the work. It was awesome.

Hey that sounds awesome. I got your card from the states mail. Thank you so much, It was like christmas all over again. Hey TZ is awesome but HOT we are having 5 baptisms on sunday so it is going well i am very excited hope i don't mess up. but it will go on one way or the other. Ya when does calving usually start? probably would be best to wait off another year. hope you guys are doing good thank you so much for everything you do.

Tell grandpa i say hi back. Hope he is doing well. Thanks again and i'll do that thank you so much
