June 15, 2015

Carson sent us a picture today from when he was being transferred from Mwanza.  Not really sure why he has such a kooky face in this picture.

Well mom
Ya all is well but i hate to say it but i am short for time again... we were invited to a FHE with a family so ya it will be super nice we have a game and a message for them but overall all is good.
Ok so yes we are teaching people (Why would you think other wise) but the reason is that i don't tell you names is that i don't know what to say and it so much to say and soooo much to type and not enough time so sorry but don't worry when i get back i can tell you everything you want to hear.
So ya transfer... so i have been transfered to kisumu for two weeks but after those two weeks elder Anderson (Who is my comp now) will be training so they will be kicking me out when he arrives and then i ll go to busia and i ll be in a three some there (with elders harvey and kogo.) so ya but thats it that i know after that blank.
I had a interview even but not much was said just endure to the end and that apparently i am a even minded man so i was confused alittle until he said that i don't get discouraged easily but also i m not perfect and always looking to improve so that was interesting
But ya i m doing good miss you all and hope you are waiting to write back soon
Love you lots

Sorry that you are short on time again.  But glad that I got to hear from you.  Why would I think you're not teaching......well you don't talk about it very much but I do understand some of your time constraints.  But excited to hear about it later on.
That's a weird transfer.  Sounds kinda crazy.  Still not sure why they wouldn't let you train anyone. Maybe cause you're too close to going home.

well me and anderson are going home together...maybe i was not meant to train... oh well... that is stressful anyway

Really?  What makes you think you wouldn't be meant to train?  What's going on that's so stressful?  (Besides being so far away...in a foreign country...with a different language?)

made i m not cut for that just be a regular missionary just doing the work why add stress upon that...all is well

Not sure what's wrong with being a regular missionary.  As long as you're working hard and trying your best.  Always proud of you.  Love ya lots too.

What's Kisumu like?  More bush...or is it a town?  Or what?

it is just like mwanza just alot big people there is a bunch of shopping malls and stuff here so it is nice but actually you could say it was a combination of nairobi and mwanza.

Sounds pretty nice.  How far away was it from your old area?  How did you get there?  Bus?  Taxi?  Hippo?

ya it is nice it was about a 3 hour bus ride (Matatu small little van) To kisumu

So how do you like the area?  How big is the branch...ward?  Have you been teaching anyone out there?  Do you still speak the swahili often...or is it more just broken english?

ya this place is really nice lots of good people here.  the branch is about 70 members strong. no most of it is english busia is a little bit of swahili. but ya it is really nice here

Too bad you don't get to stay a little longer.  Why wouldn't they just keep you in a threesome there?  Seems like a pain in the butt to get transferred in the middle of a transfer.  Hopefully you're enjoying your time over there but I also hope that you are working hard and keeping that scout motto to "Do Your Best!"  You'll want to be able to look back over your mission and know that you gave it your all!

Still haven't heard from the mission home about your release date.  Maybe they like you so much, they're not letting you come back yet.  Even the bishop asked about it this week.  So keep up the good work...maybe you'll get to stay a little longer.  (Not sure how I feel about that...but just know that we are very proud of you!)

i honestly do not know but all it does is make the transfer go by faster i guess.
But as for the release date it is the 31 of august they will send my itinerary to probably either in the month of July or August NO WORRIES

Letter to Ken:

Hey dad
Wow sounds like it is a party over that side...
ya i m really enjoying kisumu but it is a bitter sweet taste, because i really like it here but then in two weeks i ll be gone to busia... but ya i m with Elder Anderson again from mwanza all is going well he is actually preparing to train a new missionary soon after i go he ll get his son, so i m here to prepare him i guess, but ya all is good this side,
What every you thing that will be good because i don't know exactly what i want to do when i get home. so i might be just around or trying to find a place to work at. But what ever you think whether this year or the next it is good for me.
Ya so all is well i hope you have a good week this week
Are you still racing horses or has the finished.
Well love you lots
