Since Carson is in a new area now...it's like starting all over trying to figure out about what time he will be emailing. I just happened to get up for a drink of water about one am and decided to look at the emails. He had written just a half hour earlier! So nice to be able to chat with him like this!!! (Also...VERY reassuring...I don't think I could have handled this back in the "olden days" when we had to wait for SNAIL mail!!!)
well well well
Sounds like alot of fun and some interesting moments and some
sad ones. (I told him about my not so fun adventure changing a flat tire in front of the local gas station and kneeling in a big patch of snow and ice the whole time. Not one person stopped to ask if I needed help!! So much for the idea that Raymond is "Zion"!) That is very very interesting, that sucks for sure. But ya all is
well for me this side, not much is happening and when u get transferred the
first week is kindly interesting. this area i m is really nice even a bunch of
Albertans have served here lots of people liked them so lots of people are
excited to see what will be brought to the table. So ya we live in an apartment
comlex. just a little small thing but it is nice. um... this area it is mostly
nice but for sure there is some areas where it is a big NO NO just because of
some Dangers we have a curfew of 6 we have to be in our houses. MY COMP IS
ELDER Kisekka from uganda he finishes this transfer and he ll finish a week
before he supposed to because his family is going to the temple and he wants to
go too. so ya i m nolonger a Zone leader but a District leader. other than that
not much has changed this area is nice but it has some interesting areas even
the dump is close so ya.
um Ya Ashlee at first i didn't believe it but i don't want to be
mean so i ll be quiet... I l sit the side lines until i get home but if it is
continued until i get home he he he he i guess i can chase that funny boy away
African style haha fear ken all u want but wait till i get home Boys will be
RUNNING HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAH heheheh whooo let me catch my
breath ha ha whooo well ya hehehe on that thought let the warning be
layed.
ha ha oh well but ya thanks for writing i hope all goes well for
you love you lots
Hey Carson...just happened to get up for a drink of water and saw this. Are you still there?
Ya whats up
Not much...just me!
So good to hear from you. What's happening with your
shoes?
What kind of dangers that makes you have to be in by 6? Is
it dark then? Are you allowed any kind of teaching after dark? How far
away are you from the mission home?
Did you get your root beer?
Well um my shoes are fine they ll survive i laughed when they said
abuse ha haha me abuse shoes come to africa and i ll show u abuse.
It just get dark and thieves and corrupt cops come running
around so if you are out that time u ll probably get mugged.
nope nope once it gets dark we are home making food and wondering
what to do until tomorrow.
NO but maybe this week they forgot about them so some one might
of tooken it Williams Will be very very very sad.
Shoes....very important to take care of your feet! Do you
want me to try to send you a new pair or will you try to buy a new pair over
there? If your shoes are destroyed...it might be a good idea to get
something else. Still take a picture for next week if you can please.
Ok...I don't want to know about the dangers anymore...thanks for
sharing.
So it's dark at 6? What kind of food are you making now?
What time is it right now over there...here it's 1:42 am.
How long was the trip from Mwanza? Did you stop at the
mission house or go directly to Lucky Summers. Do you ever get to go back
to the mission home while you are there?
Na they are fine don't worry. It probably wouldn't even get to
me so don't worry. ya lots of fun eh. Just the same rice beans Toast... From
mwanza about three hours but we had to stop in Arusha for a bit which was funny
because as we walked back on the play another was coming in and i thought i saw
Ron Smith but it was n't them but they saw me and started waving and yelling
look look missionaries it was pretty funny.
Sorry power went out but i m back if you are
Actually...I am still here. Dad just got up to plug in his
car and now he's looking at Facebook. He says he saw Ron Smith at church
yesterday so...
How much longer are you staying on the computer?
Dad wants to know what the weather is like in Nairobi...Lucky
Summers. Is it as hot there as it was in Dar...or is it more like Mwanza?
Ya but i saw some one who looked like Ron but no problems...
probably just a few more min.
It is cold here like cold i m walking around in a sweater every
where i go and it is raining every day so i wish i had some gum boats.
Really? I can't believe it's that cold. Just think
what you'll feel like when you get home and it's minus 25 like it is this
morning. Good luck with that. Does the rain jacket work better now
that it's a little colder?
Dad wants to know if you at least get butter on your
toast. Or anything else...jam...peanut butter?
Do you still speak swahili there? Or is there more english
now?
i don't usually use that rain jacket i let my comps who don't
have anything to wear but they say it is nice.
Ya of course Blue band is what its called ya there is jam and
peanut butter here in Kenya and Tanzania u don't need to worry
Mostly English this side sure blew me away when people ask me stuff
in English it is like i have forgotten how to talk to people in English
Well I sure hope you don't lose the swahili that you've worked
so hard at. So keep that up! Dad says he needs you to be able to
talk to his jockeys when you get home. And he wants you to be able to
bear your testimony at your homecoming talk.
Ummm...I hope you get to benefit from the raincoat once in a
while too though.
Any other big plans this week? Teaching much lately.
If you have to be in after 6...are the members allowed to come to your place to
be taught? I can't imagine having to stay in after only 6 pm. but
wouldn't want to be out if it was dangerous!!!
ya for sure that would be powerful. i m trying to study this
side but Kenya Swahili is corrupted it is actually funny to hear because they
mix Swahili and English. so it just sounds weird.
Um we are working on a plan. but other than that not too much.
No members cannot come to our place just for safety reason
Dad wants to know if you know any of the names of the past
elders that served there from Alberta. There was a Jordan Karren that
served there...he was one of dad's priests back when we were in Raymond third
ward.
Oh and Jordan Michel (taught you in scouts along with Ron)
served over in Kenya too. But it's been a long time for them both.
Like ten or fifteen years maybe.
I don't know that far back but there is a Elder Moline and a
Elder Jamieson that i Know but i ll ask around and see what i can find
wow really Jordo served here to wow that is cool.
No big deal. Probably no one will remember that far back.
what time is it there? Its three thirty am for us now...
Yes...he was really excited to hear that you were over in his
old stomping grounds. But I haven't seen him for some time now. Not
sure where he is now. but that would have been a long time since he was
over there.
How's the missionary work there anyway? Any investigators
or lessons planned for this week? Are you in a ward or a branch over
there? How many members?
it is around noon. Ya it is good these members are awesome all
returned missionaries so they all love missionary work and they bring people to
church and it is just crazy. We have plans but still just filling in the gaps.
A ward
60 some people maybe more???
Do you go over to other peoples houses for meals?
Sounds awesome that everyone is a returned missionary. So
exciting. I bet you get a lot of referrals.
So is lucky summers just like a suburb of Nairobi...or is it
it's own little city?
Don't know yet only be here for a few days. it is out side of
Nairobi but still close enough to be in the Nairobi stake ????
Sounds awesome though. Can't wait to hear all about your
many adventures over there. Any big plans for the upcoming week?
Not really anything as of right now.
Well keep up the good work. We sure love you and are super
proud of you. But it is almost four in the morning (and once more the
dawning) so I think I might have to shut this down and try to get at least my
last two hours of sleep in. But I sure love you and am excited about your
transfer. Hope you are too. Be safe and make sure you follow those
mission rules. I'm sure they are there for a reason. Say hi to your
companion for us. And remember how much we love you. Take care this
week! Hope it's a gooder. Love you a ton Carson!
Mom

didn't want 24/7 yikes it is soooo cold... makes me scared to go home because i

And then Taylor wrote a cute letter to Carson and here is part of it along with his reply...awwwww!
So as you have heard I'm in indoor soccer. It's really fun but at first it was hard to understand and adapt to the rules. But it's really fun.
I hope you are having a good time on your mission. Please tell me all about your adventures that happened last week or even the week before.
Hope you have a good week.
May god bless you.
Taylor
hahah wow i think when i get back i ll take you on indoor soccer
haha sounds like fun. Well this week it has been interesting. I just said good
bye to Tanzania and i m in Kenya now in Lucky summer close to Nairobi i got
scamed at the fetching airport 50 dollars for a stupid visa. but the clicker
was if i didn't buy it i would be on the next plane to Canada hahaha i almost

OK...a few things. Seriously...you almost had an excuse to come back to Canada? And you didn't take it? I've been praying for an excuse like that!!!
Love his advice to just endure...maybe there's a message in there for me!
And I love how he signed it off....Carson...The Powerful!
