September 29, 2014

Oops...Still a week behind!  Here's a portion of my letter to Carson this week.  It helps with understanding a little more about what he's writing back to me...

Oh...I almost forgot.  I just looked out the window and saw your gray chevy sitting there.  I think we've figured out a way to make that baby last a long, long, loooong time!   Dad brought home a letter from the Town of Raymond this week.  Do you remember that dad often gets complaints about where he parks the chev when he's at work?  There have been a few instances where people have gone to the town to complain that they can't see past his truck when it's parked outside the library and they think he should move it.  He even had an RCMP officer come into his office one day to tell him that his truck was parked legally.  Yes that's right.  Some cop wasted his time to come and tell dad that his truck was parked legally...well duh!  So Dad came home this week with a letter from the Town of Raymond once again telling him that although his vehicle is parked legally...there have been complaints of where his looooong truck is parked and would he consider this a request to please park his vehicle further south down the road.  Ummm....did you see the smoke from Africa that afternoon?  Well...now Dad is excited to play the game and is just going to keep parking his truck in the exact same spot.  I think it's kind of funny actually that the town doesn't just tell people that he's parked legally and if they can't see around the vehicle...maybe they are driving too fast and should consider slowing down.  That way if pedestrians do happen to cross...they will be prepared to stop.   And remember...the speed limit posted is only 30 km there anyway.  So I guess your dad will be making sure that ol gray will live a long healthy life so that he can park where he wants and torment all those people who have nothing else to worry about than if one truck in Raymond is a little longer than the rest.

hahahahahahhhaahahahhah oh my goodness i haven't laughed so hard in my life.
but ya that sounds awesome mom. But people in Raymond complaining. Smoke from Canada more like a nuclear warhead hitting the town of Raymond oh boy oh boy Dad most be happy for sure. When someone wants to play hard ball he ll play just as fast and even harder ahhahaha i m crying i m laughing so hard. HAAHAHAHAH
Well for us it has been a really quick week. Monday we emailed, tuesday we worked alittle saw some people and wednesday was the beginning oh the adventure, We left Wed.  to Arusha we got there around afternoon time the min. we all settled down we went and put our shorts on and played football (Soccer) outside lots of fun but i was tormenting people just messing with oj mind but other than that not much, Thrus. MLC we went to the couples house and we talked about abunch of stuff alot of spiritual stuff. How to run ZTM and DDM proparly and other stuff. Pres. was awesome but i thought he was going to beat me. I got my package and I was minding my own business and then out of no where two arms wrapped around my head and all i hear free hits on williams. It all came to me slowly but president Hicken had me in a choke hold and then he wants everybody to come and beat me.... I m i dreaming or is this for really... He let me go a few min. later after i started hyperventilating but ya really scared me for sure. After that we went in and continued to talk about MLC and mission stuff and President asked a question, "How would u feel if you where reassigned without any leadership." haha i leaned back put my hands in the air and let out a big sign... Haha everybody laughed but then pres. was like he is a really man pointing at me... so i don't know if that means a good thing or a bad things. But ya MLC was good we went home on Friday. Then i had a interview over Skype which was interesting after that not much has happened. Transfer news are today. yes really excited but i don't think anything is going to change.
Ya i got a bunch of packages and um all of them where great thanks really enjoyed. But i think we opened the Christmas ones already sorry.
Thanks again hope to be able to chat with you today.
Love you lots Carson

Hi Carson.  I think I may have slept in so I might have missed you already.  Sorry.  Love your letter today.  Some awesome things happening.  hope you enjoyed your packages.  Which ones did you get?

Alot i didn't even now what to open to first

Well, hopefully you enjoyed them!  Did you get your toques yet?  You might have to save a couple for Christmas though.  I'll be sad if you have nothing to open on Christmas morning!

So sounds like Arusha was a lot of fun.  What do you think that means to be reassigned with no leadership?  Why was he choking you?  Sounds like good times.

Anything on your agenda today?

Nope not yet but the blow up tie was nice. I almost cried. No never every time i get a package it is like Christmas i m almost all Christmas out. Just to lose your leadership... to be no longer i was like WHIPEE!!!! ???????? I don't know ?????? I was very scared. but it was fun.
Go home buy Pineapple and banana go to the couples and celebrate Elder Anderson and Elder Rawson birthdays.

Well that's good.  I forgot I sent that tie. Hope you like it...don't use it too much!!  I'm actually surprised you got those packages that early.  I sent some more this week so I guess they could be the Christmas ones...except there's a Halloween one in there somewhere.

Dad says "Pineapple and banana?  To celebrate?  Way to let your hair down son!"  Ha ha.  Are you making banana splits or something?  Go wild...throw a mango in there.  That will really liven things up!

ya Couples are buying ice cream and making cake and we bring the toppings ohhhhh ya

What happened to chocolate or caramel syrup?  What about strawberries?  Dad's wondering about "normal" toppings!  Then he asked me..."so they do have ice cream there?"  Sounds like a party.

Speaking of birthdays.  That's the next packages I'm planning for.  Anything you would like me to send you for your birthday?

hahaha Where we going to find those funny stuff.
This is what we ll do we ll move my birthday to September so u just buy a bunch of good DELICOUS STUFF and sometime in September We will celebrate

Oh don't worry...I'm already planning for that celebration in September!  I'll have everything you're little heart desires that month.  Plan on being spoiled ROTTEN!!  Dad's mocking me about having my baby back home in the nest!  But let's face it...that's exactly where I want you ...for a little while anyway.  Hopefully you have a list of everything you want...and it will be here...just for you!

oh oh oh MARAHABA Hujambo music to Williams Ears hahaha

So besides the tie...what else did you get in your packages?  I'm curious to see how many of my packages made it to you.

How's the missionary work?  Teaching anyone?  Anyone close to baptism?

A bunch of candy and some cars. really nice but apparently there is still alot of stuff in Niarobi apparently Grandma sent 2 things of Root beer and it is sitting in Pres, office right now. If i ever get to Nairobi we will drink to each others health.
Close but we are still working on it. Nothing new to report but that the work is continuing on

You used to talk about getting a lot of member present lessons.  Do those still happen?  Or did that seem to change with this area?
And how come Pres didn't bring the root beer down with him?  Why is there still stuff in Nairobi?

some how member are hard to work with here.
because they don't check bags takes to long in the airport

Oh.  I thought that Grandma's root beer didn't make it.  How do you know there's a package there that has a bottle of root beer in it?

Too bad about the member present thing.  Do you get many referrals from the members?  Any help at all from them?

They opened it so they could take they other things to me. Hahahah

I don't get it.  If they opened it to take the other things to you...why not just bring the root beer too?  Why do they open it at all?  Who opens it..the post office people?

Dad's mocking me again.  He's implying that I send too many packages.  "I bet nobody sends more packages than you do."  Uh...so.    But tell me...is it a bad thing Carson?  Do you get more than anyone else.  I was planning on my last packages to be in March...but am I sending too much?

Because u can't take stuff on those planes

hahaha it isn't a bad thing but every time Zone conference or something happen every body tries to guess how many packages i ll get... Nobody guesses right,

Do they guess too high or too low?     Dad wants to know if I lead the mission in sending packages.  I'm embarrassed now.  He's making me feel bad.

Too Low.... Yup by atleast two furlongs no one is in the park...

Dad's making mooing sounds at me.

hahahah

Fine!  I'll try and tone it back a little then.  I'm just surprised the darn things are actually getting there.  But if everybody's going to be mocking me...expect a nice long dry season!!!  humph!   You boys are not very nice to the mom!

I appreciate it but if you continue sending them i ll get to Nairobi when it is time for me to Go home and it will Christmas for Williams in September

And then he was gone...

But here is his letter to Ken...

hahah dad for sure i enjoy reading your letters. Just makes me wonder who wrote this one it doesn't seem like u wrote this. doesn't look like your writing i guess. hahaha i was about to say put some couches in there a little heater a fridge could have a good time in there while those girls are doing there things.
Ya those guys even me i didn't think to much of them when i was there didn't seem like there priorities where on the straight and narrow. but ya we ll just have to see where they end up. ya for sure i ll start working on that and ya for sure always be safe and u too eh.
Love you lots
Hope to talk to u soon again in December,.
Carson

Grandma gave Carson some great advice...

I think this a bit of Pres. Hinckley's wisdom  ''Faith is the Power, Obedience is the Price, Love is the motivation, the Spirit is the Key, and Christ is the Reason''. Hope you can use it in your next impromptu talk.

And then this is his reply to her...

Wow for sure those pictures are really nice i would almost say that i have been there but i don't know. But it seems like u guys are doing good, Thanks for writing that quote really nice and for sure it is doctrine. Love you guys alot and i hope all is well. Still working hard and doing my best to do my best on mission Thanks for all your guys support.
Working hard and looking forward to reunite with you guys again. Love you lots
